Five specific ways to ensure that you will have a successful
freshman year include, punctuality, trying your hardest, organization, making
wise decisions, and treat everyone equally. You need to be punctual, because you
need to get to every class on time, as well as school and homework. This will
help you be successful because if you are late for class you could get a minor
detention, and if you turn in your homework late it will lower your grade.
Trying your hardest will really help you be successful, because when you try
your hardest it shows in your school work. Organization is key to being
successful. Without organization you won’t know what books to take to class or
where you are going. Another key factor is making wise decisions. Making wise
decisions won’t just effect your school work, it can affect your life. The last
thing that I think will make this year successful is treating everyone equally.
This will make this year successful, because if you treat everyone the same
they will treat you the same way and you won’t have any problems.

Today in Human Geography, we got prepared for the rest of
the year. One thing I learned was how to use my blogger. We also talked about
what to do when we are absent. If you are absent, just type that you are absent
and say why you were absent. The only reason you wouldn't do that is if Mr.
Schick has a specific topic to blog about. We also learned about the class
rules. I learned that when you are taking notes, we have to take notes in a
copy book, not on the computer, so Mr. Schick knows that we aren't getting
distracted. He said that ever since John Carroll got computers, students have
been getting more and more distracted. Their grades get lower and lower. This
is the reason why he decided to have the class use a marble copy book. I also
learned most of my class mate’s names.

First Day at JC!
My first day at John Carroll has been really great! I have met a lot
of new people and friends, and I really like how free the feeling of high
school is. In middle school, it didn't feel as free to do things, because I was
with my homeroom basically the whole day. Now, it doesn't matter if you aren't in
any of the same classes, you might have an off mod with your friends. I'm not going to lie, it was weird coming in
on my first day of a new school. It was weird wearing a different uniform,
being with people I don't know, and having mods off. When I was in my car
driving to school, I was really nervous, because it’s a start to a new school
and its high school. As the day went on, I realized that I have nothing to be
worried about! To be honest, I don’t think there is anything I don’t like about
John Carroll so far! It seems like a great school to be a part of, and I look
forward to spending the next four years here!
